Interior designer Karen Robert debuted her new wallpaper line at High Point Market. Called Aux Abris, her collection takes wall covering to new heights. When I came across her booth, it stood apart from the surrounding vendors, alive with shimmering beauty. Her stylish outfit is an indication of her directive color sense. From ethnic inspired floral motifs to washes of color and stripes, the design mix is subtle and sophisticated, and can be printed on canvas, grass cloth, paper or a peel and stick surface.
Robert studied the history of antiques at Sotheby’s London and drafting at The New York School of Interior Design, honing her design eye and technical abilities. Her design background and creative innovation led her to take on a new phase of her business moving beyond interiors, designing wallcoverings. They provide a welcome addition with highly textured, natural materials and innovative prints and patterns I haven’t seen out there. Here is a preview of some of the pretty patterns you will soon be coveting.
