Surge is influenced by traditional Japanese wave imagery  reminiscent of Hokusai's famous painting "The Great Wave off Kanagawa"  To further this theme, this design is printed on a Japanese woven paper and printed with highly saturated colors to create the feeling that it has been hand-inked.
